American forest-lovers Erica and Matt Hogan have created a unique tree house community called Finca Bellavista in secondary growth rainforest in the mountainous Southern Zone of Costa Rica. The solar powered community, which is also billed as the world’s first modern, planned and sustainable tree house community, consists of about two dozen sky-high structures. In near future, you could see it overpowering (greening rather) 40 other properties in its vicinity.
With a profusion of running water, electricity, refrigeration, complete bathrooms, including a shower and head, and even Wi-Fi coming together to foster the off-grid zone, all these amenities are powered by the sun alone. A waterfall on site will help the tree house community will soon host the Costa Rica’s largest privately owned hydropower system.
