Following Jean Paul Gaultier and Chanel 'tattooing' their models last fall, Louis Vuitton got into the fake ink game during the recent men's fashion week.
Designer Marc Jacobs reportedly asked his personal tattooist, the artist Scott Campbell, to come up with spray-ons inspired by the iconic LV monogram, which were worn across models' necklines, much like 'tattooed-on' scarves.
Campbell also customized some of the leather bags seen on Vuitton's runway.
After Chanel's transfer tattoo release - which has already prompted a 'mainstream' counterpart by Topshop - and Dior's branded contact lenses, it is probable that the luxe brand is eyeing a similar product that will make the temporary monogram tattoo available to its most loyal fans.
Meanwhile, Yves Saint Laurent portrayed the tattoo artist Mark Mahoney of the Los Angeles Shamrock Social Club in a short film, directed by Ari Marcopoulos, which debuted at its men's show last week.
